Silke Morrison

Silke Morrison is a fulltime PhD student at the University of Otago, Dunedin School of Medicine, researching the impact of sleep loss on children’s eating and movement behaviours under the supervision of Prof Rachael Taylor, Prof Barbara Galland and Dr. Jill Haszard. Silke has trained in Germany as a pediatric doctor’s assistant (Kinderarzthelferin) before retraining as a registered Dietitian in NZ. She has been the director of her private practice for 14 years, personally specializing in weight management, eating disorders and functional gut disorders. Silke, has a passion for teaching and worked alongside her private practice as a professional teaching fellow in dietetics at the University of Otago for 9 years. She started her PhD journey in 2018, when she, her husband and two boys moved on to a different lifestyle.
